Sutton, West Virginia is home to The West Virginia Bigfoot Museum. First established in 2021, the museum brings thousands of guests to downtown Sutton every year. The West Virginia Bigfoot Musem hosts the West Virginia Bigfoot Festival every year, located at Holly-Gray Park. The event now draws approximately 20,000 guests!
For decades the area has been home to the legendary Flatwoods Monster, a ten-foot tall creature first seen by locals in 1952 following the crash of what appeared to be a space craft. Following the crash, numerous others claimed to see the creature in the woods. While not seen since 1952, many believe the monster to be lurking in the woods today.
