Sutton, West Virginia is home to the West Virginia Bigfoot Festival. First established in 2021, the festival brought over one-thousand attendees to downtown Sutton. The 2022 Festival saw tremendous growth with over six-thousand attendees while this year's festival is anticipated to draw even more!
For decades the area has been home to the legendary Flatwoods Monster, a ten-foot tall creature first seen by locals in 1952 following the crash of what appeared to be a space craft. Following the crash, numerous others claimed to see the creature in the woods. While not seen since 1952, many believe the monster to be lurking in the woods today. Visit the Flatwoods Monster Museum to learn more.
